The 2015-16 Fiscal Year Spending Plan For Erwin Has Been Passed. That Budget Includes A 33-Cent Property Tax Increase And A 50-Percent Cut In Social And Welfare Funding. The Cuts Were Made As Part Of A Plan To Help Ease A Million Dollar Deficit. When Asked What Was Causing The Deficit, Alderman Michael Baker Attributed Utilities And Health Insurance As The Biggest Expenses.
