The Kingsport Housing And Redevelopment Authority Won’t Be Receiving 11-Million Dollars In Federal Tax Credits This Year For The First Phase Of The Midtown Neighborhood Redevelopment. The Organization Scored 98 Out Of 100 On Its Application, However, The Money Goes Mainly To Those Applicants Who Score 100-Percent. This Will Push The Overall Time Frame For The Project Back Almost A Year. The Plan Calls For Redevelopment Of A 4.5 Acre Site Between Myrtle And East Sevier Streets Into 59 Mixed-Income Housing Units. Work On The Project Will Begin Around August 2017.
