Sullivan County School Officials Have Cut The Number Of High Schools In The County From Four To Two. The Board Of Education Voted In Favor Of Recommending The Adoption Of A Plan To Close Sullivan North, South, And Central High Schools As Early As 2019 After Building A New 17-Hundred-Student High School With State-Of-The-Art Career Technical Education Offerings. In Addition, The Current Sullivan North High And Middle School Building Will Be Transferred To Kingsport City Schools For Use As A City Middle School.
