The Unicoi County’s Budget Committee Is Hard At Work To Try To Trim A Projected Deficit Of More Than 400-Thousand Dollars Off The 2015-16 Fiscal Year Budget. So Far 238-Thousand Dollars Has Been Trimmed And There’s More Work To Do Before The July 31st Deadline. The Shortfall Is Attributed To A Loss Of Revenues That Occurred Last Year When The Sheriff’s Budget Was Cut To A Point That Forced Inmates To Get Sent Back To Nashville. In The End, Those Cuts Cost The County 335-Thousand Dollars Boarding Revenues.
