A special exhibit honoring the late Tennessee Ernie Ford will debut this fall at the Birthplace of Country Music Museum in Bristol. Museum director and head curator Jessica Turner said that the exhibit is expected to open in mid-October. It will mark the 60th anniversary of Ford’s country and pop hit “Sixteen Tons.” The exhibit will include elements of Ford’s career through radio, recordings and television, and focus on his connection to Bristol, his boyhood home. The exhibit is expected to include personal items on loan from Ford’s family, along with video and audio of his performances.
