The Victim Photo Life Bill now awaits the signature of Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam. If signed by the governor, a jury will get to see regular photos of the victim photos before death which is currently not allowed in Tennessee. Yesterday, members of the Tennessee House of Representatives passed the measure with one amendment. The measure now says the right to have the photo introduced into evidence is given to the district attorney. Joan Berry, a vocal supporter of the measure, was in Nashville for the votes. Berry’s daughter, Johnia, a Bristol native, was murdered in Knoxville a decade ago.
