A two-million dollar personal injury lawsuit has been filed against a Bristol Tennessee nursing home blamed for the death of an elderly woman. 98 year old Anne Brightwell died in a hospice bed june 16th. Her upper leg bone was shattered February 6th. It was alleged to have been caused when a hammock sling, used to hoist her from a bed to a wheelchair, snapped. She was being cared for at the time by Cambridge House nursing home staff. A medical examiner listed the broken femur as the cause of death on Brightwell’s death certificate. Brightwell’s daughter, Ruth Countiss filed the lawsuit in court in Bristol Tennessee.
