It Was First Conceived By Patricia Anderson Of The Contra Costa County California Sheriff’s Office In 1981. Washington County Virginia Sheriff Fred Newman Has Said Its Being A Dispatcher Is The Most Challenging Job In The Sheriff’s Office. It’s Often A Thankless Job And Most Citizens Don’t Realize The Work They Do And The Tremendous Amount Of Stress And Pressure They Are Under. A Big Salute To All Law Enforcement Dispatchers.
