A Kingsport Man Has Been Indicted By A Sullivan County Grand Jury On A First Degree Murder Charge In Connection With The Death Of A City Man In November 2010. 43 Year Old Jonathan Slemp Is Accused In The Brutal Stabbing Death Of 53 Year Old Gary Jones Who Was Found Dead At His Home On Lone Oak Drive. At The Time Of This Indictment, Slemp Was Also Charged With First Degree Murder In The 2011 Beating Death Of Betty Sue Short. He’s Still Awaiting Trial On That Charge. Detective Matt Price Said Slemp Is Also A Person Of Interest In The 1997 Death Of 17 Year Old James Hutson. Hutson Was Found Stabbed To Death And His Mother Raped In The Incident. Slemp’s Bond Is Set At 250-Thousand Dollars And He Will Appear In Criminal Court Thursday Afternoon At 1:30.
