Bristol Tennessee Leaders Have Voted To Approve A Resolution Seeking To Have The Tennessee General Assembly Enact Legislation That Would Allow The City To Impose A Restaurant Privilege Tax. The City Would Then Be Permitted To Add A Two Percent Tax On Meals Served In Restaurants, Cafes, Cafeterias And By Caterers. If Passed, The Additional Tax Revenue Would Be Used For Tourism Promotion While 25-Percent Would Go Into The City’s General Fund To Be Used For Things Such As Education.
