New Eligibility Criteria For Virginia’s Preschool Programs Will Have A Negative Impact On Students In Scott County. Currently, School Divisions Determine, Locally, The Criteria Used To Identify 4-Year-Olds Who Would Benefit In The Virginia Preschool Initiative. The New Changes Will Force Eligible Families To Choose Between Sending Their Children To The County’s Preschool Program Or The County’s Federally Funded Head Start Program. This Could Have A Negative Affect On Teaching Jobs In The County School System Related To Pre-School Education.
