THE NEW FOOTBALL STADIUM ON THE CAMPUS OF SCIENCE HILL HIGH SCHOOL IN JOHNSON CITY COULD BE READY BY NEXT YEAR. CITY MANAGER PETE PETERSON SAID THE PROJECT COULD BE PUT OUT TO BID AS EARLY AS JANUARY. HE SAID ARCHITECTS HAVE TOLD HIM IT WOULD BE REASONABLE TO EXPECT THE NEW FACILITY TO BE COMPLETED BY 2010, WITH THE STADIUM READY FOR FOOTBALL BY NEXT FALL. AT ITS SEPTEMBER 3RD MEETING, CITY COMMISSIONERS DECIDED TO BUILD AN ON-CAMPUS STADIUM INSTEAD OF RENOVATING MEMORIAL STADIUM.
