The former director of the Hamblen County-Morristown Solid Waste System is accused of stealing more than $200,000 from the agency. According to a news release from the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, Ronald Brady Jr. was indicted for theft. The TBI began investigating Brady after an audit by the state comptroller’s office. It found that from July 1, 2010, through Jan. 31, 2014, Brady wrote himself additional payroll checks totaling more than $190,000. He’s also accused of using the agency’s credit card to make personal purchases totaling nearly $32,000. Brady subsequently resigned.
