The Boy Scouts of America won’t reach its 100th anniversary until next February, but the celebration has gotten an early start in Jonesborough with a spectacular corn maze. Scouts from throughout northeast Tennessee and southwest Virginia camped in a field next to the maze on Fender’s Farm before it opened to the public earlier this month. It will remain open until Nov. 1. Farm co-owner Carroll Fender said the corn was planted in late June. The scout emblem was cut in early July. The maze features about two miles of trails and 85 “decision points” at which walkers much decide which way to turn. Most visitors require about an hour to navigate it.
