The Hawkins County Commission May Use County Funds To Pay Off The Debt On The Phipps Bend Spec Building, Which Has Been For Sale Since It Was Built In 2009. With The County Paying Off The Building, Members Of The Industrial Development Board Can Expect Greater Participation And Scrutiny From The County Commission. The 60-Thousand Square Foot Building Has An Estimated Value Of Nearly 1.4 Million Dollars. If The Full Commission Agrees To Pay The Loan Outright, The Money Will Come From The County’s 3.8 Million Dollar General Debt Service Fund.
