Washington County Tennessee’s Reapportionment Committee Is Considering Reducing The Number Of County Commissioners. The County’s 10 Districts Has 25 Commissioners Based On Population Figures From The 2010 U.S. Census. Today, 40 Of Tennessee’s 95 Counties Have 15 Or Fewer County Legislative Members. It’s Unclear What The Number May Be Reduced To. State Law Dictates District Boundaries Must Be Reapportioned Every 10 Years. The County’s Reapportionment Committee Will Meet Again March 3rd To Discuss The Idea.
