Washington County, Tennessee Authorities Are Warning The Public About A Police Officer Impersonation Phone Scam Going Around. Sheriff Ed Graybeal Said The Scammers Call Citizens And Identify Themselves As A Washington County Sheriff’s Office Deputy. The Scammer Then Informs The Victim That There Is A Warrant Out For Their Arrest For Failure To Pay Court Cost Or Failure To Answer A Jury Duty Summons. They Then Demand Immediate Payment Of Money To Prevent Their Arrest. Citizens Should Hang Up If They Receive Such A Call And Report It To Police.
