A BULLS GAP TENNESSEE COUPLE ACCUSED OF KILLING A HAWKINS COUNTY MAN ARE BEHIND BARS. 62 YEAR OLD MICHAEL BAXTER AND 35 YEAR OLD CYNTHIA JOHNSON ARE CHARGED WITH FIRST DEGREE MURDER IN THE AUGUST 24TH KILLING OF 56 YEAR OLD JERRY SHORT OF ROGERSVILLE. BAXTER ALSO FACES AN ADDITIONAL CHARGE OF POSSESION OF A FIREARM BY A CONVICTED FELON. SHORT WAS FOUND IN HIS HOME WITH TWO GUNSHOT WOUNDS TO THE HEAD. A NOTE WAS ALSO FOUND ASKING FOR MONEY FROM THE VICTIM. THEFT IS BELIEVED TO BE THE MOTIVE FOR THE CRIME. THE COUPLE IS EXPECTED TO BE IN GENERAL SESSIONS COURT SOON.
