THE BRISTOL TENNESSEE CITY COUNCIL HAS APPROVED A HIGHER PROPERTY TAX RATE FOR THIS FISCAL YEAR. THE NEW RATE IS $2.19 PER $100 OF ASSESSED VALUE COMPARED TO THE OLD RATE OF $2.10. ACCORDING TO CITY MANAGER JEFFREY BROUGHTON, THE NEW TAX RATE WILL ALLOW THE CITY TO INCREASE REVENUE 508-THOUSAND DOLLARS AND RUN MORE EFFICIENTLY AFTER HAVING TO CUT JUST OVER 1.5 MILLION DOLLARS FROM ITS CURRENT SPENDING PLAN.
