TEEN FREE ON BOND

Aug 31, 2009

A 15 YEAR OLD GRAY TENNESSEE TEEN ACCUSED OF KILLING HIS OLDER BROTHER IS FREE ON BOND. CALEB JAMES IS CHARGED WITH SECOND DEGREE MURDER IN THE STABBING DEATH OF 16 YEAR OLD ADAM JAMES AT THE FAMILY HOME EARLIER THIS MONTH. A JUDGE SET CALEB’S BOND AT 50-THOUSAND DOLLARS AND HE POSTED BAIL A SHORT TIME LATER. INVESTIGATORS SAID ADAM AND HIS MOTHER WERE FIGHTING WHEN THE MOTHER YELLED FOR CALEB TO HELP HER. THAT’S WHEN CALEB ALLEGEDLY STABBED HIS BROTHER WITH A LARGE KNIFE. THE JUDGE HAS ORDERED JAMES TO REMAIN ON HOUSE ARREST AND IS NOT ALLOWED TO BE LEFT ALONE AT ANY TIME. HE HAS TO CONTINUE COUNSELING AND BE HOME-SCHOOLED. THE DISTRICT ATTORNEY’S OFFICE IS EXPECTED TO DECIDE SOON IF CALEB WILL BE TRIED AS AN ADULT. HIS NEXT HEARING IS SET FOR OCTOBER 5TH IN JUVENILE COURT.
