RUNWAY EXPANSION PLANS ARE MOVING AHEAD AT TRI CITIES REGIONAL AIRPORT. PLANS CALL FOR THE PURCHASE OF SIX VACANT RESIDENTIAL LOTS FOR 417-THOUSAND DOLLARS FROM THE GRANDE HARBOR SUBDIVISION TO PREVENT FUTURE DEVELOPMENT OF THE LAND. THE AIRPORT NEEDS THE LAND SO IT CAN EXPAND ITS SECONDARY RUNWAY AND BUILD A PERIMETER ROAD. AIRPORT EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR PATRICK WILSON SAID THE ROAD WOULD ALLOW VEHICLES TO GET FROM ONE END OF THE AIRPORT TO THE OTHER WITHOUT CROSSING THE MAIN RUNWAY.
