YOU MAY HAVE NOTICED WITH THIS YEAR’S RACE THAT MORE TRAFFIC IS CRAWLING AROUND OUTSIDE BRISTOL MOTOR SPEEDWAY. ACCORDING TO BRISTOL TENNESSEE TRAFFIC ENGINEER DAVE METZGER, FEWER PEOPLE ARE CAMPING THROUGHOUT THE WEEK AND INSTEAD ARE DRIVING AND FILLING THE PARKING SPOTS DURING THE DAY. METZGER WENT ON TO SAY HE’S HAD MORE PHONE AND EMAIL REQUESTS FOR DRIVING DIRECTIONS. SOME FANS ARE FINDING IT’S CHEAPER TO SIMPLY BRAVE HOURS-LONG DRIVES, STAY FOR THE DAY AND RETURN HOME THAN IT IS TO SPEND THE WEEK. OTHERS ARE STAYING IN HOTELS AND DRIVING TO THE SPEEDWAY.
