A JONESBORO MAN HAS BEEN SENTENCED TO A FEDERAL PRISON IN SOUTH CAROLINA ON GUN RELATED CHARGES. 46 YEAR OLD SCOTT KEYS, JR., WAS ORDERED TO SPEND EIGHT YEARS AND DAY ON CHARGES OF POSSESSION OF A FIREARM AFTER HAVING BEEN CONVICTED OF A FELONY, AND POSSESSION OF AMMUNITION. IN FEBRUARY 2008, WASHINGTON COUNTY TENNESSEE INVESTIGATORS SAID KEYS SHOT AND SEVERLY INJURED ANOTHER MAN AT KEYS HOME ON MILL SPRINGS ROAD. KEYS WAS INDICTED BY A FEDERAL GRAND JURY. FOLLOWING A PLEA AGREEMENT, KEYS WAS TRANSFERRED TO FEDERAL PRISON IN EDGEFIELD, SOUTH CAROLINA TO SERVE HIS SENTENCE. HE COULD BE TRIED IN WASHINGTON COUNTY CRIMINAL COURT FOR ATTEMPTED SECOND DEGREE MURDER IN THE SHOOTING.
