A FORMER POLICE OFFICER WHO WORKED AS A CONSTABLE AND DETENTION OFFICER IN WASHINGTON COUNTY TENNESSEE AND UNICOI COUNTY IS HEADED TO PRISON FOR VIOLATING FEDERAL LAW. 35 YEAR OLD JIMMY FOX OF JOHNSON CITY WAS SENTENCED IN U.S. FEDERAL COURT IN GREENEVILLE TO FIVE MONTHS IN FEDERAL PRISON, 5 MONTHS OF HOME DETENTION, AND 3 YEARS ON SUPERVISED PROBATION AFTER BEING FOUND TO BE A USER OF MARIJUANA WHILE IN POSSESSION OF FIREARMS. FOX WAS A SECONDARY TARGET OF THE NEARLY YEAR-LONG FEDERAL INVESTIGATION NAMED “OPERATION TALISMAN” SPEARHEADED BY THE DRUG ENFORCEMENT ADMINISTATION AND THE WASHINGTON COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFCE. A TOTAL OF 33 PEOPLE WERE INDICTED ON FIREARMS AND MARIJUANA DISTRIBUTION CHARGES.
