THE VIRGINIA CORPORATION COMMISSION HAS APPROVED A FUEL RATE INCREASE FOR APPALACHIAN POWER CUSTOMERS. BUT THE HIKE WILL NOT BE ARE LARGE AS WAS REQUESTED. THE INCREASE WILL PROVIDE ALMOST 130 MILLION DOLLARS TO RECOVER FUEL COSTS FROM JULY 2008 THROUGH AUGUST 2010. APPY POWER HAD REQUESTED AN ADDITIONAL 226 MILLION DOLLARS. SO THE RESULT – THE TYPICAL RESIDENTIAL CUSTOMER THAT USES ONE THOUSAND KILOWATT-HOURS WILL PAY $7.16 MORE PER MONTH.
