A HAWKINS COUNTY MAN HAS BEEN ARRESTED AFTER ALLEGEDLY POINTING A LOADED GUN AT POLICE DEPUTIES. MIRANDA QUALLS TOLD POLICE THAT HER FATHER-IN-LAW, GARY MORELOCK, HAD THREATENED TO KILL HER, HER HUSBAND, AND HER MOTHER-IN-LAW. WHEN DEPUTIES ARRIVED AT MORELOCK’S RESIDENCE, HE ALLEGEDLY ANSWERED THE DOOR AND STUCK A REVOLVER PISTOL IN THE OFFICER’S FACE. THE DEPUTY EVENTUALLY TOOK THE WEAPON FROM MORELOCK. HE WAS REPORTEDLY INTOXICATED AT THE TIME. MORELOCK IS CHARGED WITH AGGRAVATED ASSAULT OF A POLICE OFFICER AND POSSESSION OF A HANDGUN BY AN INTOXICATED PERSON. HE WILL APPEAR IN SESSIONS COURT SOON.
