THE TENNESSEE BUREAU OF INVESTIGATION IS PROBING THE DEATH OF A CARTER COUNTY JAIL INMATE. ROGER WALES OF LIMESTONE WAS CHARGED WITH CRIMINAL IMPERSONATION, PUBLIC INTOXICATION AND RESISTING ARREST. SHERIFF CHRIS MATHES SAYS WALES WAS PLACED IN A HOLDING CELL. IT APPEARS HE DIED AFTER ASPIRATING. CURRENTLY THERE APPEARS TO BE NO SIGN OF FOUL PLAY. AUTHORITIES ARE STILL AWAITING THE RESULTS OF AN AUTOPSY.
