A SULLIVAN COUNTY GRAND JURY HAS INDICTED A KINGSPORT MAN WHO ALLEGEDLY STRUCK AND KILLED A TEEN MOTORCYCLIST WHILE FLEEING FROM POLICE. 25 YEAR OLD DANIEL MCGUIRE OF KINGSPORT IS CHARGED WITH TWO COUNTS EACH OF VEHICULAR HOMICIDE, AGGRAVATED ASSAULT, RECKLESS ENDANGERMENT, EVADING ARREST, LEAVING THE SCENE OF AN ACCIDENT WITH INJURY, NO DRIVER’S LICENSE AND RUNNING A STOP SIGN. MCGUIRE ALLEGEDLY DROVE THROUGH A TENNESSEE HIGHWAY PATROL CHECKPOINT IN JULY, LEADING POLICE ON A CHASE AND THEN STRIKING THE REAR OF A MOTORCYCLE. 17 YEAR OLD JOSHUA DARNELL FELL OFF THE MOTORCYCLE AFTER BEING STRUCK AND ONTO THE ROAD. HE WAS PRONOUNCED DEAD A SHORT TIME LATER.
