CITING THE NEED TO IMPROVE A CRITICAL SHORTAGE OF PHYSICIANS IN THE TRI CITIES AREA, KING COLLEGE ANNOUNCED PLANS YESTERDAY TO OPERATE ITS OWN MEDICAL SCHOOL TO BE OPENED BY 2012. KING COLLEGE PRESIDENT DR. GREG JORDAN SAYS THEY HOPE TO A VOID IN THE REGION. KING IS A SMALL, PRIVATE SCHOOL IN BRISTOL TENNESSEE. OFFICIALS SAY EVENTUALLY, THE MEDICAL SCHOOL COULD HAVE AN ECONOMIC IMPACT OF AROUND 300 MILLION DOLLARS IN THE TRI CITIES AREA.
