A DOMESTIC VIOLENCE INCIDENT OVER THE WEEKEND IN JOHNSON CITY HAS LANDED A CITY MAN IN JAIL. 39 YEAR OLD JERRY HARWOOD IS CHARGED WITH FELONY AGGRAVATED DOMESTIC ASSAULT. THE ARREST WAS THE RESULT OF AN INVESTIGATION AT HARWOOD’S HOME ON GIBSON STREET LAST NIGHT. HE WAS ALLEGEDLY INTOXICATED WHEN HE CHOCKED HIS GIRLFRIEND OF 11 YEARS AND POINTED A 358 BOLT ACTION RIFLE AT HER SAYING HE WAS GOING TO KILL HER AS SHE STOOD IN THE DRIVEWAY OF THE HOME. HARWOOD HAD ALLEGEDLY THREATENED HER WITH A POCKETKNIFE AFTER SHE FORCED A HANDGUN AWAY FROM HIM EARLIER AFTER HE THREATENED TO END HIS OWN LIFE AS WELL AS HERS. OFFICER’S RECOVERED THE HIGH POWERED RIFLE AND THE HANDGUN, WHICH WERE STILL LOADED. HARWOOD IS BEING HELD ON A 25-THOUSAND DOLLARS BOND WITH A PRELIMINARY HEARING SET FOR THIS AFTERNOON IN GENERAL SESSIONS COURT.
