THE ROBBERY REPORTED AT A KINGSPORT EATERY EARLIER THIS WEEK HAS TURNED OUT TO BE AN INSIDE JOB WITH THE MANAGER FACING CHARGES. KINGSPORT POLICE RESPONED TO THE SUBWAY ON LYNN GARDEN DRIVE ON TUESDAY AFTER THE MANAGER, ERIC LATTIMORE, CALLED 9-1-1 TO REPORT THAT HE HAD BEEN ROBBED. KINGSPORT POLICE DETECTIVE MELANIE ADKINS SAYS EVIDENCE POINTED TO LATTIMORE. HE TOLD POLICE THAT AN UNKNOWN MALE SNATCHED THE BANK DEPOSIT AS HE WAS WALKING TOWARD THE BANK. WHEN LATTIMORE WAS CONFRONTED WITH THE ALLEGATION, HE REFUSED TO FURTHER TALK. HE HAS SINCE RESIGNED HIS POSITION AT THE RESTAURANT. LATTIMORE WAS ARRESTED AND CHARGED WITH THEFT OVER A THOUSAND DOLLARS, A CLASS D FELONY, AND FALSE REPORTING OF AN EMERGENCY, A CLASS C FELONY. HE IS BEING HELD IN THE KINGSPORT JAIL ON BOND OF 7-THOUSAND DOLLARS. HE WILL BE ARRAIGNED SOON IN GENERAL SESSIONS COURT.
