EAST TENNESSEE STATE UNIVERSITY OFFICIALS HAVE RELEASED THE NAME OF THE SUSPECT THEY ARE LOOKING FOR IN CONNECTION WITH THE ALLEGEED CARJACKING ON CAMPUS. THE INCIDENT OCCURRED YESTERDAY AFTERNOON WHEN A FEMALE STUDENT NOTICED A MALE SUBJECT, IDENTIFIED AS 38 YEAR OLD DAVID LEE FORNEY THE SECOND, A STUDENT AT THE UNIVERSITY, APPROACHING HER VEHICLE IN THE PARKING LOT. ETSU DIRECTOR OF SAFETY JACK COTREL SAID THE FORNEY SHOWED THE STUDENT A GUN AND A BRIEF STRUGGLE ENSUED, BUT THE MAN MANAGED TO TAKE THE GIRL’S CAR – A 2004 FORD MUSTANG CONVERTIBLE WITH THE LICENSE NUMBER 743 CHV – AND FLEE. AUTHORITIES WERE ABLE TO LOCATE THE VEHICLE A SHORT TIME LATER AND PURSUED IT INTO NORTH CAROLINA WHERE OFFICERS LOST IT AROUND MARS HILL. THE SEARCH IS STILL CONTINUING FOR FORNEY, WHO IS DESCRIBED AS 5-9, 180 POUNDS. IF ANYONE HAS ANY INFORMATION ABOUT THIS INCIDENT, YOU NEED TO CALL AUTHORITIES IMMEDIATELY.
