A FORMER NASCAR TEAM OWNER THAT WAS BASED OUT OF ABINGDON VIRGINIA IS SET TO GO TO TRIAL IN JANUARY. LARRY MCCLURE WAS INDICTED THIS WEEK BY FEDERAL GRAND JURY IN U.S. DISTRICT COURT IN ABINGDON ON CHARGES OF FILING A FALSE TAX RETURN MONEY LAUNDERING AND OBSTRUCTING A TAX INVESTIGATION. HE HAS PLED NOT GUILTY TO THE CHARGES. THE JUDGE HAS DECIDED TO TRY ALL THREE CHARGES TOGETHER. MCCLURE IS CURRENTLY FREE ON BOND UNTIL HIS TRIAL JANUARY 20TH IN FEDERAL COURT. THE OWNER OF MORGAN-MCCLURE MOTORSPORTS FACES UP TO 115 YEARS IN PRISON AND 2.75 MILLION DOLLARS IN FINES IF CONVICTED.
