TWO BRISTOL VIRGINIA MEN ACCUSED OF TRYING TO EXTORT MONEY FROM A MOUNTAIN CITY BUSINESSMAN HAVE BEEN ARRAIGNED IN U.S. DISTRICT COURT IN GREENEVILLE. 44 YEAR OLD JEFFREY SELL AND 47 YEAR OLD WILLIAM SELL ARE EACH CHARGED WITH EXTORTION AFFECTING INTERSTATE COMMERCE, MAILING A THREATENING COMMUNICATION TO INJURE AN INDIVIDUAL, THEIR PROPERTY AND BUSINESS. THE TWO MEN ALLEGEDLY SENT A LETTER TO BARTON MOUNT, PRESIDENT OF MAYMEADE CORPORATION IN MOUNTAIN CITY, DEMANDING MOUNT GIVE THEM 70 THOUSAND DOLLARS OR FACE HARM TO HIM, HIS FAMILY, HIS BUSINESS, AND HIS PROPERTY. THE PAIR HAS BEEN RELEASED ON 20-THOUSAND DOLLARS BOND EACH. THEY WILL APPEAR IN COURT AGAIN ON NOVEMBER 13TH.
