A MAN CONVICTED OF VEHICULAR HOMICIDE IN A FIERY DRAG RACING CRASH IN JOHNSON CITY IN 2005 WILL REMAIN BEHIND BARS FOR THREE MORE YEARS. EARLIER THIS MONTH, A HEARINGS OFFICER WITH THE TENNESSEE BOARD OF PROBATION AND PAROLE HEARINGS RECOMMENDED AGAINST PAROLE DUE TO THE SERIOUSNESS OF HIS CRIME. BOARD MEMBERS HAVE UPHELD THE HEARING OFFICER’S RECOMMENDATION. MULLINS IS PRESENTLY SERVING A FIVE YEAR PRISON SENTENCE IN THE DEATH OF CORTNEY HENSLEY AND THE SERIOUS WOUNDING OF HER FRIEND COURTNEY BEARD. MULLIN’S MUSTANG SLAMMED INTO THE BACK OF THEIR CAR ON NORTH ROAN STREET CAUSING IT TO CATCH FIRE. MULLINS WON’T BE ELIGIBLE FOR PAROLE AGAIN UNTIL 2011. MEANWHILE, CO-DEFENDANT DAVID PHILLIPS, WHO WAS ALSO CONVICTED IN THE CASE, REMAINS FREE PENDING THE OUTCOME OF AN APPEAL.
