A SULLIVAN COUNTY MAN HAS BEEN ORDERED TO SERVE TIME BEHIND BARS AFTER PLEADING GUILTY TO FIRARMS RELATED CHARGES. 55 YEAR OLD DANIEL HENRY LANE, JR. WAS SENTENCED TO 15 YEARS IN FEDERAL PRISON AFTER A FEDERAL GRAND JURY INDICTED HIM FOR BEING A CONVICTED FELON IN POSSESSION OF A FIREARM OR AMMUNITION.THE INVESTIGATION BEGAN WHEN A NEIGHBOR TOLD AUTHORITIES THAT LANE DAMAGED THEIR LAWN AND HAD POINTED A SHOTGUN AT THEM WHEN LANE WAS CONFRONTED. LANE WAS CARRYING A .20 GUAGE SHOTFUN SHELL IN HIS POCKET. LANE WAS PROSECUTED UNDER THE FEDERALLY-MANDATED “PROJECT SAFE NEIGHBORHOOD INITIATIVE.”
