A MAN ACCUSED OF GUNNING DOWN HIS FATHER EARLIER THIS YEAR HAS PLED NOT GUILTY IN SULLIVAN COUNTY CRIMINAL COURT. 21 YEAR OLD ERIC JOHN LAMBERT WAS INDICTED LAST MONTH ON A CHARGE OF SECOND DEGREE MURDER. BOTH PROSECUTORS AND THE DEFENSE ARE AWAITING THE RESULTS OF A MENTAL EVALUATION TO DETERMINE IF LAMBERT WAS SANE AT THE TIME OF THE ALLEGED CRIME. LAMBERT HAD BEEN READING THE BIBLE AND EATING AT A LOCAL CAFE JUST A FEW HOURS BEFORE HIS FATHER WAS FOUND FATALLY SHOT IN THE CHEST. A JUDGE HAS SET A DECEMBER HEARING TO CHECK THE STATUS OF LAMBERT’S EVALUATION. HE REMAINS BEHIND BARS ON A 100-THOUSAND DOLLARS BOND.
