A recent report by a state research group shows most of the growth in Tennessee within the last 10 years remains concentrated among a small number of its counties. Specifically, the Tennessee Advisory Commission on intergovernmental Relations report shows the growth is in the ashville, Knoxville and Clarksville regions. Cliff Lippard, associate executive director of TACIR, says those regions are outpacing the rest of the state in terms of growth, employment, income, population and wages. He says the report doesn’t offer any solutions, but seeks to identify the concentrated areas to encourage discussion about the challenges faced by rapidly and slowly growing communities.
