THE SUSPECT NAMED BY TRI CITIES POLICE AS A PERSON OF INTEREST IN THE SEPTEMBER DEATH OF A BLUFF CITY MAN HAS BEEN INDICTED BY A SULLIVAN COUNTY GRAND JURY, BUT IS STILL ON THE LAM. SULLIVAN COUNTY SHERIFF WAYNE ANDERSON SAID POLICE ARE STILL SEARCHING FOR 31 YEAR OLD ABREY WAYNE FORTNER WHO WAS INDICTED ON A CHARGE OF FIRST DEGREE MURDER. FORTNER IS WANTED IN CONNECTION WITH THE BRUTAL STABBING DEATH OF 41 YEAR OLD ARTHUR BURCHARD, JR, SHERIFF ANDERSON SAID BURCHARD’S BODY WAS FOUND BY A FAMILY MEMBER. ANDERSON SAID AN AUTOPSY REVEALED THAT THE MAN’S THROAT HAD BEEN CUT. SO THAT MEANS THAT THE PUBLIC SHOULD NOT ATTEMPT TO APPREHEND FORTNER, BUT CONTACT POLICE AS HE’S CONSIDERED TO BE A DANGEROUS PERSON – AND COULD BE ARMED. FORTNER IS DESCRIBED AS SIX FEET, 220 POUNDS, WITH BROWN EYES, AND BROWN HAIR.
