OFFICIALS AT TUSCULUM COLLEGE IN GREENEVILLE ARE TRYING TO DETERMINE WHAT CAUSED A SECTION OF TEMPORARY BLEACHER SEATS TO COLLAPSE DURING A BAND COMPETITION. ONLY ONE PERSON WAS HURT AND THEY SUFFERED FROM A FRACTURED ANKLE IN THE SATURDAY INCIDENT. GREENE COUNTY COMMISSIONER BILL DABBS WITNESSED THE EVENT. HE SAID HE HEARD A NOISE AND THEN WATCHED AS THE BLEACHERS COLLAPSED IN SLOW MOTION. IT’S UNCLEAR WHO OWNS THE MAKESHIFT BLEACHERS OR WHO HAD THEM INSTALLED.
