A SCOTT COUNTY VIRGINIA GRAND JURY HAS INDICTED A KEOKEE MAN IN CONNECTION WITH ALLEGEDLY TRYING TO HIRE SOMEONE TO KILL AN AREA JUDGE. 20 YEAR OLD JORDAN SHIRKS OF KEOKEE IS CHARGED WEITH SOLICITING MURDER. HE ALLEGEDLY TRIED TO HIRE SOMEONE TO KILL DISTRICT COURT JUDGE TAMMY MCELYEA. SHIRKS PLED GUILTY IN HER COURT IN JULY TO ROBBERY, CONSPIRACY TO COMMIT ROBBERY, BREAKING AND ENTERING, BUYING AND RECEIVING STOLEN PROPERTY, PETIT LARCENY, AND GRAND LARCENY. HE’S CURRENTLY SERVING NINE YEARS IN JAIL AND FACES UP TO 40 YEARS IN PRISON IF FOUND GUILTY OF THE LATEST CHARGE. SHIRKS REMAINS BEHIND BARS IN THE SOUTHWEST VIRGINIA REGIONAL JAIL IN DUFFIELD.
