A MOTIONS HEARING HAS BEEN SET IN WASHINGTON COUNTY TENNESSEE CRIMINAL COURT IN THE CASE OF TWO JOHNSON CITY WOMEN ACCUSED IN A VEHICULAR HOMICIDE CASE IN WHICH THREE PEOPLE WERE KILLED. DEFENSE ATTORNEYS CLAIM THE TWO VEHICLES INVOLVED IN THE JANUARY 2007 CRASH WERE CRUSHED AT A LOCAL FACILITY. 24 YEAR OLD CHASITY BROWN AND 20 YEAR OLD PATSY COLE EACH FACE THREE COUNTS OF VEHICULAR HOMICIDE. COLE FACES ADDITIONAL CHARGES OF AGGRAVATED ASSAULT AND AGGRAVATED CHILD NEGLECT WHILE BROWN IS ALSO CHARGED WITH AGGRAVATED ASSAULT AND TWO COUNTS OF AGGRAVATED CHILD NEGLECT. AUTHORITIES ALLEGE BROWN WAS IN A VEHICLE CHASING COLE AND BROWN’S HUSBAND WHEN COLE ALLEGEDLY RAN A RED LIGHT AND COLLIDED WITH ANOTHER VEHICLE DRIVEN BY VALARIE MITCHELL. SHE AND HER MOTHER, ETHEL WERE KILLED IN THE CRASH AS WELL AS A PASSENGER IN COLE’S CAR, MICHELLE CAMPBELL. THE DEFENSE CLAIMS THEY WANTED TO LOOK AT THE VEHICLES BUT THEY HAD ALREADY BEEN CRUSHED. JUDGE ROBERT CUPP SET THE CASE FOR A MOTION HEARING ON THE MISSING EVIDENCE ON NOVEMBER 5TH. BOTH WOMEN ARE FREE ON BOND PENDING TRIAL.
