TWO GREENEVILLE TEENAGERS HAVE PLED GUILTY IN U.S. DISTRICT COURT TO SETTING A FIRE THAT CAUSED MASSIVE DAMAGE TO A DOWNTOWN HISTORIC WAREHOUSE. 18 YEAR OLD MATTHEW KEITH ROSE AND 18 YEAR OLD JORY RAMIREZ ADMITTED TO STARTING THE BLAZE ON JULY 31ST AT THE RECENTLY REMODELED BEWLEY WAREHOUSE ON MAIN STREET. THE HEAT AND FLAMES ALSO DAMAGED TREES AND SIGNS AT THE ANDREW JOHNSON HOMESTEAD ADJACENT TO THE WAREHOUSE. THE PAIR WAS CHARGED WITH ARSON OF A BUILDING WHICH WAS USED IN INTERSTATE COMMERCE AND WITH DAMAGE TO U.S. GOVERNMENT PROPERTY. THE TWO TEENS ARE FACING UP TO 20 YEARS IN PRISON AND FINES UP TO 250-THOUSAND DOLLARS WHEN THEY’RE SENTENCED ON JANUARY 15TH, 2009. THE TWO ARE BEING HELD IN JAIL PENDING THEIR SENTENCING.
