THINGS ARE BACK TO NORMAL AT THE KINGSPORT TOWN CENTER AFTER A PARTIAL POWER OUTAGE AND SUSPECTED ELECTRICAL FIRE FORCED THE FORMER FORT HENRY MALL TO BE EVACUATED AND CLOSED TEMPORARILY. THE INCIDENT OCCURRED YESTERDAY AFTERNOON. A FAN MOTOR IN THE KITCHEN OF PICADILLY RESTAURANT BURNED UP AND FILLED THE EATERY AS WELL AS THE LOWER PORTION OF THE TOWN CENTER WITH SMOKE. IT JUST SO HAPPENED A FEW MEMBERS OF THE KINGSPORT FIRE DEPARTMENT WERE EATING IN THE RESTAURANT AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT. THEY WORKED WITH AEP AND MALL SECURITY TO GET THE MALL EVACUATED AND THE INCIDENT UNDER CONTROL. NO ONE WAS INJURED. THE MALL WAS REOPENED WITHIN AN HOUR.
