THERE’S ANOTHER RACE AT BRISTOL MOTOR SPEEDWAY THIS YEAR BUT THIS ONE INVOLVES SHARKS. THE INAUGURAL SHARKY 500 WON’T BE RUN ON THE HIGH BANKS OF BRISTOL AND IT WON’T COVER 500 MILES, BUT IT WILL PROVIDE A NICE PAYOUT. RUBBER SHARKS WILL BE DUMPED INTO BEAVER CREEK JUST NORTH OF THE SPEEDWAY AND THEY WILL DRIFT ABOUT 500 YARDS TO THE FINISH LINE. THE WINNING SHARK WILL WIN A CENTURION FALCON V AIR WARRIOR BOAT AND TRAILER VALUED AT 40-GRAND. THE EVENT IS PART OF THE KIDS EXPO NEXT MONTH. PROCEEDS FROM THE SHARKY 500 WILL BENEFIT THE BRISTOL CHAPTER OF SPEEDWAY CHILDREN’S CHARITIES, WHICH HAS RAISED OVER FOUR MILLION DOLLARS IN THE LAST 11 YEARS FOR CHILDREN’S AGENCIES IN NORTHEAST TENNESSEE AND SOUTHWEST VIRGINIA. THE SHARKS ARE TEN DOLLARS AND CAN BE PURCHASED AT THE BMS TICKET OFFICE. YOU DON’T HAVE TO BE PRESENT AT THE OCTOBER 4TH EVENT TO WIN.
