A TELFORD MAN ACCUSED IN THE DEATH OF ANOTHER MAN LAST YEAR HAS ACCEPTED A PLEA DEAL IN WASHINGTON COUNTY TENNESSEE CRIMINAL COURT. 24 YEAR OLD JASON PHILLIPS PLED GUILTY TO SECOND DEGREE MURDER IN THE STABBING DEATH OF JIMMY OVERMAN OUTSIDE OVERMAN’S EX-WIFE’S HOME. A JUDGE SENTENCED PHILLIPS TO 15-YEARS IN PRISON. HE CLAIMED THE STABBING WAS IN SELF DEFENSE. PHILLIPS APOLOGIZED IN COURT TO THE VICTIM’S EX WIFE AND DAUGHTER WHO BOTH WITNESSED THE MURDER. HIS ALLEGED CO-DEFENDANTS, DANIEL BLACK AND MICHAEL BLANKENSHIP ARE SET FOR A PLEA DEADLINE HEARING ON NOVEMBER 24TH.
