A JOHNSON CITY MAN WHO WAS RECENTLY INDICTED IN THE ROBBERY OF A CITY CONVENIENCE STORE HAS A TRIAL DATE SET IN WASHINGTON COUNTY TENNESSEE CRIMINAL COURT. JOHNNY LOPEZ IS CHARGED WITH ROBBERY IN THE JULY 2007 HOLDUP OF SUNOCO ON NORTH BROADWAY. LOPEZ IS ALSO CHARGED IN A SEPARATE CASE WITH SECOND DEGREE MURDER IN THE SHOOTING DEATH OF HIS NEPHEW CHARLIE ROMERO. HIS BODY WAS FOUND OUTSIDE HIS HOME IN NOVEMBER 2006. HE HAD BEEN SHOT IN THE HEAD. JUDGE ROBERT CUPP SET THE ROBBERY CASE FOR NOVEMBER 20TH WHILE THE SECOND DEGREE MURDER TRIAL WILL START IN LATE MARCH.
