SULLIVAN COUNTY COMMISSIONERS USED RESERVES TO HELP BALANCE AN OVER 164 MILLION DOLLAR BUDGET FOR THE FISCAL YEAR THAT BEGAN JULY 1ST. THE SPENDING PLAN WAS BASED ON LAST YEAR’S TAX RATE. 6.9 MILLION DOLLARS IN FUND BALANCES WERE USED TO BALANCE APPROPRIATED EXPENDITURES. THE COUNTY HAD TO APPROVE A SPENDING PLAN BY OCTOBER 1ST OR RISK STATE FUNDING CUTS.
