THE TOWN OF LEBANON VIRGINIA IS GEARING UP FOR A VISIT FROM DEMOCRATIC PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE BARACK OBAMA TODAY. THIS MARKS THE SECOND TIME OBAMA HAS BEEN IN SOUTHWEST VIRGINIA SINCE ACCEPTING THE NOMINATION IN JUNE. HE WILL LEAD A TOWN HALL MEETING AT LEBANON HIGH SCHOOL THIS AFTERNOON. OBAMA PLANS TO ADDRESS ENERGY AND ECONOMIC ISSUES DURING HIS VISIT. THIS RURAL COMMUNITY HAD ONCE RELIED ON FARMING AND MINING BUT HAS RECENTLY BENEFITED FROM HIGH TECHNOLOGY COMPANIES MOVING INTO THE REGION. TICKETS FOR THE EVENT HAVE ALL BEEN GIVEN OUT. THE DOORS WILL OPEN THIS AFTERNOON AT 3:15 AND THE TOWN HALL MEETING WILL GET UNDERWAY AT 5:15 IN THE HIGH SCHOOL GYM.
