THREE PEOPLE ARE FACING DRUG CHARGES AFTER A LARGE QUANTITY OF MARIJUANA WAS FOUND INSIDE A KINGSPORT APARTMENT. 31 YEAR OLD AMY CARRICO, 23 YEAR OLD MICHAEL NEFF, AND TERRY VERMILLION ARE CHARGED WITH POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA FOR RESALE, MAINTAINING A DWELLING WHERE DRUGS ARE STORED, SOLD OR USED, AND POSSESSION OF DRUG PARAPHERNALIA. VERMILLION FACES ADDITIONAL CHARGES OF POSSESSION OF A FIREARM BY A VIOLENT CONVICTED FELON AND INTRODUCTION OF CONTRABAND INTO A PENAL FACILITY. POLICE WERE RESPONDING TO REPORTS OF POSSIBLE DRUG ACTIVITY AT HOLLY HILLS APARTMENTS ON WATTERSON STREET YESTERDAY MORNING. CARRICO GAVE POLICE CONSENT TO SEARCH THE APARTMENT. THEY SEIZED APPROXIMATELY TWO POUNDS OF MARIJUANA, TWO SHOTGUNS, MORE THAN TWO THOUSAND DOLLARS IN CASH, A FORD MUSTANG, AND A FORD EXPLORER.
